The Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy is seeking an Electrical Testing and Inspection Technician to support the Department's compliance with electrical safety, and health and safety requirements.
As a key member of the departmental safety team, the role holder will play an important part in promoting electrical safety and ensuring a safe working environment, liaising with staff, students, visitors and contractors. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out electrical inspection and testing activities, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the Department in meeting its statutory and regulatory obligations.
Reporting to the Safety Technician, the role holder will undertake a range of technical and administrative duties including the delivery of an electrical safety programme, providing practical advice and guidance to support the Department's teaching and research activities.
Working closely with colleagues across the Department, the role holder will contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive safety culture, helping to ensure that electrical safety standards and best practice are consistently applied.
This role is onsite, Mon-Fri.
Limited funding: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
