This post is full time and permanent, working 35 hours per week.

We are looking for a thoughtful, curious and engaged research and insight professional to join our Strategy, Planning & Performance team as an Insight Lead for Student Experience & Success.

This is a role for someone who enjoys connecting the dots between data, lived experience, institutional strategy and the realities of student life. Someone who is interested not just in reporting metrics, but in understanding what sits behind them and helping colleagues across the University use evidence confidently and intelligently.

You will work across a wide range of student experience and success priorities, supporting strategic initiatives including education strategy, the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), Access & Participation Plan (APP), student surveys (e.g. NSS) and wider institutional evaluation activity. You will bring together quantitative analysis, qualitative insight and sector intelligence to help build a clearer picture of the student journey and where we can improve it.

We are particularly interested in people who are:

  • naturally inquisitive and intellectually curious
  • motivated by improving outcomes for students
  • comfortable working with both detail and ambiguity
  • able to communicate complex analysis in a clear and engaging way
  • collaborative, thoughtful and proactive in how they work with others

You will likely bring experience of working with large or complex datasets, survey analysis, and insight generation, alongside strong technical and analytical capability. Experience in Higher Education, student insight, planning, business intelligence or institutional research would be valuable, but equally important is your ability to think critically, ask good questions and turn evidence into action.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team that values evidence, curiosity, continuous improvement and thoughtful challenge and where good analysis genuinely informs institutional decision-making.

If you enjoy making sense of complexity, spotting patterns others miss, and helping organisations make better decisions through evidence and insight, we would love to hear from you.

At the University of Westminster, diversity, inclusion and equality of opportunity are at the core of how we engage with students, colleagues, applicants, visitors and all our stakeholders.

We are fully committed to enabling a supportive and safe learning and working environment which is equitable, diverse and inclusive, is based on mutual respect and trust, and in which harassment and discrimination are neither tolerated nor acceptable.

The University has adopted Smart Working principles to support and further our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion aims of being an inclusive, collaborative and flexible employer. Further details of Smart Working can be discussed at interview stage.

Closing date: 11.59pm on 8 July 2026

Interviews are likely to be held on: w/c 20 July 2026
