Senior Lecturer (Construction Management)

Manchester Metropolitan University is seeking an ambitious Senior Lecturer in Construction Management to join our newly formed School of Engineering and Environment.

As part of our exciting Built Environment strategy, you will play a key role in developing and delivering a new portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will contribute to an outstanding student experience through high-quality teaching, curriculum development and academic leadership, while building strong links with industry and professional practice.

We are looking for an experienced academic or industry professional with broad construction management expertise and specialist knowledge of digital construction technologies and processes.

About the role

As a Senior Lecturer, you will:

• Deliver engaging, research-informed teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
• Lead the design, development and delivery of modules and contribute to programme leadership.
• Inspire and support students through excellent teaching, supervision and pastoral support.
• Contribute to academic leadership within the department, promoting innovation and good practice.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and industry partners to enhance teaching and the student experience.
• Support scholarship, knowledge exchange and external engagement activities that contribute to the University's reputation.
• Help deliver excellent student outcomes in line with Manchester Met's Road to 2030 strategy.

About you

You will have:

• A PhD (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline.
• Experience of developing and delivering Built Environment programmes within Higher Education.
• Expertise in Construction Management, with knowledge across areas such as Digital Construction, Construction
• Technology, Modern Methods of Construction, Project Management, Sustainability or Quantity Surveying.
• A strong track record of delivering high-quality teaching and assessment that inspires students.
• Experience of module leadership and contributing to curriculum development.
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students and external stakeholders.
• Membership of, or willingness to work towards membership of, an appropriate professional body such as RICS, CIOB, PMI or APM.

Experience of programme leadership, apprenticeship delivery, professional body accreditation, supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students, and working with industry partners would be advantageous.
