The Lecturer Integrated Foundation Year and Health vacancy is your chance to help students take confident first steps into degree-level study at the University of Northampton. Delivered across the University’s full portfolio and organised into broad cognate subject groupings, the course combines academic skills development with subject-focused learning. In this post, you will deliver engaging teaching across the Health cognate area, support students as a personal tutor, and contribute to wider faculty and University activity. Designed for learners who may not have traditional entry qualifications, the Integrated Foundation Year builds the critical study skills and subject understanding students need to progress onto their chosen degree pathway, before moving into the standard degree course.
You will be able to carry out your work in a way that best supports UON and our students, but also you as an individual. We understand this may vary between different areas of the university as well as from one person to another. With Smarter Working you can work with increased flexibility, if you would like to, which can facilitate greater freedom and autonomy.
About you
You will be a student-focused educator with strong, current knowledge and experience in Health-related disciplines, including Nursing and wider Allied Health Professions.
You will bring significant experience supporting learners from diverse backgrounds and a proven commitment to helping students build confidence, academic skills and subject understanding so they can progress and succeed.
