This is an exciting opportunity to join the School of Pharmacy technical team as a facilities specialist.

About the role

The main purpose of this position is to provide general and specialist research support including leading on method development in relation to Mass Spectrometry. The post-holder will work within a team supporting facilities within UCL School of Pharmacy research department of Pharmaceutical and Biological Chemistry, and will be line managed by Dr Nikita Harvey (NMR Facility Manager). The role will involve working alongside and providing cover for other specialist services technicians in the division, helping to organise resources, provide training and technical advice, prepare samples, prepare grant applications/papers/presentations and contribute to the development of local procedures.

About you

You will be an enthusiastic, team-player with good practical experience in and theoretical knowledge of using and troubleshooting in Mass Spectrometry and Cell Culture. You must have BSc/Level 6 qualification in a relevant Chemical or Biological Sciences subject or equivalent experience and proven knowledge of research techniques and methodologies relevant to Mass Spectrometry and Cell Culture. Experience in laboratory management in a Chemical/Biological Sciences research laboratory and/or facility is also essential.
