Here’s more about the role and what we’re looking for:
A laboratory technician is required for Loughborough University’s prestigious School of Aeronautical, Automotive, Chemical and Materials Engineering (AACME). The work will be predominantly in the Departments of Materials and Chemical Engineering.
You will come from a practical engineering background e.g. Mechanical and / or instrumentation with particular emphasis on manufacturing / processing facilities.
You will have experience of providing laboratory technical support to industrial or academic project teams.
Whilst being part of a local team, you will be a ‘self-starter’ with the ability to work with the minimum supervision and with a large degree of autonomy.
You will be a solutions provider with the ability to work with local partners to ensure both teaching and research can proceed smoothly and with minimum interruption.
The role will be part time (0.6 FTE) equating to three consecutive days per week with the specific days being agreed at interview.
About the School of AACME
As well as our research, the departments of Chemical Engineering and Materials deliver taught laboratories to both undergraduates and postgraduates with emphasis on traditional engineering and science themes alongside more topical subject matter such as sustainability and the ‘circular economy’.
