Are you an experienced leader ready to optimise technical operations in a world-class academic environment? We are seeking a School Technical Manager in The School of Mathematical & Physical Sciences to coordinate, innovate and lead our technical team across a diverse range of laboratories and workshops. The School encompasses Chemistry, Physics and Astronomy and Mathematics and Statistics, with world leading and internationally excellent rated research.
Working in close partnership with the Head of School and School Manager, this is a great opportunity to lead a dedicated technical team across multiple locations. You will ensure our research and teaching infrastructure is managed efficiently to meet the evolving needs of our staff and students. From short-term resource coordination to 5- to 10-year strategic forecasting, you will play a pivotal role in driving service excellence and business continuity. You will collaborate with the School Health & Safety Officer to maintain compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act, sharing best practice and developing a safety first culture within the School.
Having a good honours degree or equivalent experience, you will have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of H&S regulations. As you will be responsible for technical operations a broad range of relevant technical expertise, including up to date knowledge of the School’s specialist areas would be an advantage.
