Henley Business School (University of Reading) is seeking to appoint one new faculty member at Lecturer or Associate Professor level in Rural Land and Business Management to lead the teaching of the rural land and property subject area in the Department of Real Estate and Planning. The job is suitable for applicants from a variety of backgrounds, including experienced professionals with relevant practice experience or candidates with a strong academic grounding in rural related studies.
The post holder will be responsible for the design and delivery of rural teaching at both undergraduate and master’s level and willing to participate in and lead relevant rural research projects. Areas of interest may include rural asset management and investment, rural valuation, rural diversification, rural policy and land use, landlord and tenant law in the rural sector, sustainability and green infrastructure.
At associate professor level there is also an expectation that the successful candidate will contribute to the Department by performing an administrative leadership role.
The post holder will join a team of over thirty academics in the Department of Real Estate and Planning (part of the Henley Business School) and will have the opportunity to develop and carry out original and impactful teaching and research supported by effective mechanisms of resource allocations. We provide the environment for colleagues to work collaboratively as well as individually in developing their research. We have a vibrant student community comprising over 700 undergraduate and postgraduate students and 20+ PhD students. The successful candidate will teach and lead modules in the broad area of rural land and business management across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and engage in relevant research. Through the activities of our alumni association ‘The Reading Real Estate Foundation’ (RREF) colleagues can engage with our global alumni base of over 12,000 real estate and planning professionals.
