Applications are invited for the post of Postgraduate Taught Course Coordinator who will be based in the Postgraduate Office at the Department of Engineering's site in central Cambridge. The Postgraduate Office offers a complete "cradle to grave" service to all postgraduate students registered in the Engineering Department, from initial enquiries, through the application process, registration on arrival, the period of study, and examination, to closure of files once a student has graduated.

The Department currently recruits to six taught MPhil, two MRES, two part-time taught postgraduate programmes, with annual applications of over 2000 and an annual intake of circa 200 postgraduate taught students. The Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology recruits to two taught MPhil, and one MRes programme.

The role-holder will manage the postgraduate taught course support systems, processes and communications on behalf of the Faculty of Engineering to ensure the successful delivery of all the postgraduate taught programmes as well as support the work of the Postgraduate Office. This is a very busy and varied role involving daily communication with academic staff, students and potential applicants, so the successful candidate must have excellent communication and organisational skills, be able to demonstrate a high level of initiative and have the ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively.

You will be educated to degree level/Level 6 vocational qualifications, or possess an equivalent level of practical experience, and be an experienced user of Microsoft Office. You should have experience of working in University administration in either a project, programme or course coordination role. Experience of Committee work, preferably in a higher education institution and in the area of postgraduate administration is also required. We are looking for an individual who is able to work as part of a team as well as providing clear leadership when necessary, with experience of contributing to the development of administrative systems and processes, seeking out best practice and successfully implementing change. Knowledge of CAMSIS and Sharepoint would be desirable.
