Reporting to the Cohort Principle Investigator (Professor Michele Hu). The post holder of this role is a member of the Oxford Parkinson’s Disease Centre (OPDC) clinical research group. Established in 2010, the OPDC cohort follows up 1700 individuals with PD, prodromal PD and control participants longitudinally, both at home and in clinic. Omics data collected includes genetics, metabolomics, proteomics (Olink and NULISA) integrated with imaging and digital biomarkers. We are increasingly able to collect data about patients outside of a controlled hospital environment, with plans to link data to NHS digital health records by 2027. The postholder will work with the clinical research team to help quantify symptoms using objective measures of behaviour and sleep patterns in daily life environments alongside clinical and omics data, translating key findings into clinical practice and therefore patient care.

The postholder will focus on combining large datasets using active and passive digital testing, including an 8-minute smartphone test used to predict outcomes of relevance to people with Parkinson’s Disease (PD), with a key role of this job being to assist in the analysis of the smartphone data recordings. More information on the smartphone can be found here: www.kneuhealth.com. The successful applicant will work closely with our senior postdoctoral scientist on Deep learning and Machine Learning Algorithm (MLA) approaches to diagnose, stratify and measure progression in Parkinson’s and prodromal Parkinson’s patients from the OPDC Discovery cohort. They will have full access to the wealth of omics data collected longitudinally in the cohort.

Please see the below 'Job Description' for further details on the role, responsibilities, and selection criteria, as well as further information about the university and how to apply.

This post is full time and fixed term for 12 months in the first instance.

Only applications received before midday 12:00 on Friday 24th July 2026 will be considered.

Interviews will be held as soon as possible thereafter.
