Anna Freud is seeking a part-time Course Tutor – DNP & Module Co-Lead (MPDP) to join our world-leading mental health charity for children, young people and families.

You will help shape the curriculum, collaborate with leading academics, clinicians and researchers, and support a small, engaged student cohort. What you’ll do

You will support the delivery and development of the Developmental Neuroscience and Psychopathology programme through teaching, assessment, academic leadership and pastoral support.

You will:

  • Co-lead the Multiple Perspectives in Child Development module, contributing to its design, delivery and improvement.
  • Deliver postgraduate lectures and seminars and coordinate guest speakers.
  • Develop and mark assessments and dissertations, contribute to moderation and attend Exam Boards.
  • Provide academic guidance and pastoral support as a personal tutor.
  • Support admissions, quality assurance, programme administration and continuous improvement with colleagues at Anna Freud, UCL and Yale.

What you’ll bring

You will be a collaborative educator with expertise in child development, developmental psychopathology or a related field.

You will:

  • Hold a PhD in Psychology or a related discipline and/or a child clinical qualification at Master’s level or above.
  • Have postgraduate teaching experience and the ability to create engaging learning materials.
  • Understand at least one major theoretical approach to developmental psychology and value interdisciplinary perspectives.
  • Have experience providing pastoral support, with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Work effectively, independently and collaboratively, with a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.

Key details

Hours: 14 hours per week across the year, including at least 2.5 hours of in-person teaching each week during term time.
Salary: £51,245 FTE per annum, plus a 6% contributory pension.
Location: Hybrid, with at least 20% of working hours onsite at 4–8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH.
Contract: Permanent.
