Lincoln Bishop University is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Psychology Technician to provide technical support to teaching teams, researchers and students. This is an exciting opportunity to support learning, teaching, research, conferences and events within Psychology. Psychology is situated within the new Institute of Health which comprises Psychology, Sport, Health and Social Care, and Counselling.
The Department is seeking to recruit the equivalent of 1.0 FTE Psychology Technician support. Applications are welcomed from candidates wishing to work either full-time or part-time. Depending on the outcome of the recruitment process, the Department may appoint either one full-time Psychology Technician or two part-time Psychology Technicians whose combined hours equate to 1.0 FTE.
The successful candidate(s) will support laboratory and experimental work, prepare and maintain specialist equipment, assist with health and safety risk assessments, and provide technical support for students and academic staff. The role will also involve supporting specialist psychology software, online experiment creation, and updates to VLE materials.
For candidates interested in developing a research career, there may also be an opportunity to undertake a PhD alongside a part-time technician appointment (minimum 0.5 FTE). Any PhD application, supervisory arrangements and proposed research project will be subject to the University's normal postgraduate research admissions and approval processes. Successful applicants approved for doctoral study could be eligible for a University tuition fee waiver in accordance with institutional policy.
