Applications are invited for a new course coordinator post at the University of Cambridge Department of Medicine, to be appointed by September 2026. The primary responsibility of this role will be to provide support to the Course Director for the Master's in Bioscience (MBE) MPhil, which will welcome students in October 2027.

The postholder will play a key role in supporting the course director in delivering and managing the academic and research components of the Master's in Bioscience (MBE) MPhil. The MBE Programme Co-ordinator will work closely with the MBE Programme Director and liaise daily with the programme lecturers (over 100 external speakers), the majority of whom work in industry, as well as bioscience, technology, enterprise and other relevant stakeholders in the University ecosystem and industry. The successful candidate will be involved in the administrative side of student enquiries and selection of candidates, and they will also support lecturers to access materials and upload presentations on a daily basis. The post-holder will also be the first point of contact for prospective applicants and current students on the course. In this capacity and through complementary activities, the postholder will champion and develop the teaching and research profiles of the Department of Medicine.

The one-year MBE Programme is designed for a cohort of 25-35 students and receives over 150 applications each year. The MBE is an intensive taught postgraduate course consisting of lectures, course work, group and individual assessments, an industry consultancy project, a research project hosted by a company and business plan development for the students' own ventures. Students come from diverse backgrounds ranging from life sciences to financial services and are highly sought after by industry following the course, typically securing senior executive positions in industry.

Applicants must be educated to A level standard/NVQ level 3 or equivalent post-16 level of education or have an equivalent level of practical experience. Applicants should have a record of working in an administrative role (paid or voluntary) and of demonstrating accuracy, attention to detail and organisational skills. Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office. excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. 

Experience in working in the field of higher education and a knowledge of postgraduate education at the University of Cambridge are highly desirable. The successful candidate will be supported to develop in the role and take on further responsibilities where appropriate.

Fixed Term: The appointment will be made on a 3-year fixed term basis in the first instance, with the possibility of extension in the future.
