The Opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced postdoctoral research fellow to join the team led by Prof Asier Unciti-Broceta at the Institute of Genetics and Cancer (IGC). The post holder will also work closely with the team of Prof Kev Dhaliwal at the Centre for Inflammation Research. The post holder will conduct original research in synthetic and medicinal chemistry, and produce materials for patenting, publication and dissemination, towards the project goal of developing novel medicines against lung diseases. The candidate must have completed a PhD degree in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry or a related discipline. Significant experience in organic synthesis and chemical characterization is essential. Located within the IGC, University of Edinburgh, the successful candidate will play a leading role in curating chemical libraries, performing medicinal chemistry campaigns and provide strategic support to the principal investigators.
