Salary
The salary for the post is on a scale from £16,905- £18,669 per annum (2025-26 rates, reviewed annually), depending on qualifications and experience, and membership of USS is offered. The lecturer may take a certain number of lunches and dinners free of charge during weeks 0 to 9 of each term. A research allowance and teaching book allowance are also offered, as well as access to a teaching room.
Jesus College, Oxford invites applications for a fixed-term six-hour Stipendiary Lectureship in Computer Science from 1 October 2026 until 30 September 2027.
The successful candidate will teach Functional Programming, Linear Algebra, Concurrent Programming, Imperative Programming, Algorithms and Data Structures, Digital Systems, Introduction to Proof Systems, and related courses.
In addition, the lecturer will be expected to set and mark College examinations, to participate in the routine administration of Computer Science, including undergraduate Admissions, and to assist in the pastoral care of undergraduates reading the subject. Candidates should have a strong educational background, with a first degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification.
