Here’s more about the role and what we’re looking for:

The Department of International Relations, Politics and History (IRPH) at Loughborough University is looking to appoint a high calibre individual to diversify and strengthen the team delivering Philosophy on its popular Politics, Philosophy and Economics BA (Hons). An ability to teach and supervise across politics, philosophy and economics would therefore be helpful.

While we welcome applications from all philosophers, we are particularly keen to appoint someone who can strengthen and expand our vibrant PPE community, especially applicants whose research and teaching interests address the intersections of politics, philosophy, and economics.

This might include, but is not limited to:

  • applicants with research and teaching interests in the philosophy of science (including, among others, the philosophy of social science and the philosophy of economics)
  • analytical moral, legal, and/or political philosophy (including approaches drawing upon non-western traditions)
  • philosophy informed by experimental or quantitative methods; or epistemology and the philosophy of language, especially approaches to epistemology and the philosophy of language addressing areas of political significance.

A willingness to teach introductory philosophy, including the history of philosophy, will be an advantage.
