Competitive starting salary range from £38,781 up to £44,093 (dependent on experience) with the potential to progress. A discretionary range for candidates with exceptional experience can be discussed/considered

The Role

You will deliver teaching, coordinate courses, and support the development of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programmes, ensuring an excellent student learning experience.

You will collaborate with academic colleagues to embed research, enterprise, and professional practice into teaching. You will contribute to the delivery of Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management subjects, including Quantity Surveying, Construction Law, Real Estate and Property Management, and Economy, Finance and Accounting.

Duties include:

  • Teach modules and courses at HE Levels 4-7 in Quantity Surveying, Built Environment and Sustainability, developing teaching materials, delivering learning sessions, and supporting students throughout the academic year.
  • Maintain subject expertise through professional development, engagement with professional bodies, conferences, workshops, and mandatory pedagogic CPD to ensure ongoing authority to teach.
  • Design, develop, moderate, and quality assure module assessments.
  • Provide high-quality academic guidance and support to enhance student learning, retention, progression, and employability.

Qualifications Required

  • Master’s degree in an appropriate subject or Honours Degree with appropriate professional qualification and/or membership
  • A teaching qualification or acceptance of the requirement to acquire one if not already held
  • PhD or active membership of an appropriate professional body would be advantageous
  • Full time or Apprenticeship teaching and assessment at Higher Education (HE) level
  • Membership of RICS and relevant practical experience are highly desirable.

You will have proven experience teaching Quantity Surveying at Higher Education Levels 4-7, delivering high-quality teaching, learning and student engagement.

You will contribute to teaching in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management, with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Quantity Surveying, Construction Law and Legal Systems, Real Estate and Property Management, and Economy, Finance and Accounting.

You will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and experienced in applying active learning approaches to support student success.
