Job description:
The School of Education and English includes a range of undergraduate and postgraduate Initial Teacher Training (ITT) courses in primary and secondary education. In addition, it has a range of full-time Education and English courses, and a substantial work-based education portfolio for those already supporting learning in educational settings.
The School of Education and English at the University of Bedfordshire is offering an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate colleague, with an active interest in teaching, research and enterprise, to join its primary education team. We are seeking to appoint an academic with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to teach, and lead practice in our primary education programmes. This includes: PGCE Primary Education with QTS (3-7); PGCE Primary Education with QTS (5-11); BA Primary Education with QTS (3-7); BA Primary Education with QTS (5-11). The post holder will play a key role in supporting and delivering a range of education units across these courses which lead to Qualified Teacher Status.
You will have knowledge and understanding of national and international perspectives in primary education as well as an understanding of contemporary research and development in this field, and substantial teaching and professional expertise. This will include mentoring student teachers, and a proven track record in sharing good practice and leading teacher development activities.
