Hours of work: Full-time.

Tenure: The post is to cover a period of maternity leave that is available from 14 September 2026 and is expected to last up 12-months.

Hybrid: Minimum requirement of 40% on Campus, with 60% considered desirable where possible.

We are seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic Information Security Analyst to join our Information Security team. Great opportunity to gain experience in HE environment and contribute to security compliance and supplier risk management processes. This is a key role supporting the University’s efforts to embed clear information ownership, accountability, and improved security across our systems, infrastructure, and processes. The role uses governance, risk and compliance skillsets rather than technical or cyber security skills.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with staff and students to assess needs, advise on information handling, and support best practices.
  • Contribute to the development and promotion of a consistent information security policy framework.
  • Collaborate with IT Services and wider University departments to ensure effective implementation of governance controls.
  • Support the administration and delivery of our information security awareness programme.
  • Provide practical advice on applying security and governance policies to new systems and projects.
  • Support administration of supplier security assessment process for University IT Suppliers
  • Assess risks and highlight areas for improvement using recognised frameworks and methodologies. 

About You:

  • Practical experience supporting users with information governance and handling processes and advice.
  • Strong understanding of information and cyber security principles (technical expertise is not essential or a required part of the role).
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and risk assessment methods.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills.
