Background of department/role
Come and join our high performing Law Team and support our students in achieving their full potential. With rapid international growth with collaborative partners in Cyprus and Sri Lanka, the Christ Church Law department is a vibrant and dynamic department seeking to maintain and improve our current high standards.

This position is a fixed-term (12 months) maternity cover. You will play a key role in delivering undergraduate and foundation year teaching, and will also support the wider Law Team’s activities. There will also be responsibility to undertake additional administrative tasks as required.

You will have experience of teaching at undergraduate level, including the ability to plan, design and deliver a high-quality student learning experience.

We are looking particularly for individuals who can contribute to the following modules:

  • Contract Law
  • The Law of Obligations in Context
  • English Legal System
  • Law of Torts

Applicants with other areas of legal specialism are also highly welcomed.

You will be qualified at least to master’s Level (ideally with an LL.M), and preferably with a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline.

How will you work?
We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible, and as this role is student facing, campus attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the service being delivered and to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders. It is expected that the majority of your working time will be spent on campus during semesters teaching.

We want you to bring the real you to work, so we are committed to building a genuinely inclusive working environment where everyone is welcomed and where everyone can have a true sense of belonging. Our spirit of community will help us to eliminate discrimination and will enable us all to thrive in a culture that is underpinned by fairness and justice. We therefore seek people to join us who will proactively support and shape this aim and contribute in their own unique way. If this is you, then we are waiting to hear from you. #yourCCCU
