The Finance Office is looking to recruit a Finance Manager to provide accurate and timely management information to senior University management, Chairs of academic departments, Heads of administrative departments, Directors of commercial activities and for inclusion in reports to external government bodies, in order to aid planning, control and decision-making, especially in the deployment of University resources.

Part of this role will include being the finance lead for our Research portfolio, managing a team of 2. The Research portfolio is typically c.£20m in the following areas:
This role will also be the key finance contact for 2 of the research focussed directorate groups, the Clinical Trails Unit (CTU) and Biomedical services (BMS), working in a business partnering capacity, answering questions, producing quarterly forecasts and the annual 5 year plan.
About You
You will have an honours degree or equivalent and will draw on technical expertise gained in obtaining a professional accounting qualification. You should have broad experience within a finance function (including a working knowledge of tax), be a good communicator and have experience of working with non-finance professionals. Management experience would be ideal.
You will be a leader and strong communicator, who has the technical skills to develop and deliver excellent financial information and advice to support WMS researchers and management in their work. Thereby enabling growth in research and making sure that income is maximised and costs represent best value.
