Boston University Study Abroad London is currently recruiting for two Programme Coordinator positions. We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Programme Coordinator to support the delivery of innovative international education programmes for undergraduate students studying in London.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a globally recognised university and play a key role in delivering an exceptional student experience for more than 1,200 students each year.

The role will focus primarily on Boston University's London academic programmes, while also supporting a range of study abroad partnerships and academic initiatives delivered alongside prestigious partner institutions.

About the Role:

As Programme Coordinator, you will support the planning, coordination and successful delivery of academic programmes and associated student services at Boston University's London centre.

This is a varied and rewarding role that combines academic administration, programme coordination, student support, faculty liaison and stakeholder management. You will work closely with colleagues across Academic Affairs and Student Affairs to ensure students receive a high-quality academic and personal experience throughout their time in London.

You will also contribute to programme development, support compliance processes, coordinate academic activities and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external partners across both the UK and United States.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme Coordination and Delivery

  • Lead and coordinate the planning and delivery of Boston University London programmes.
  • Coordinate programme logistics, including pre-arrival communications, student arrivals and departures, attendance monitoring, field trips and academic activities.
  • Work closely with colleagues in London and Boston to ensure programmes run smoothly and students receive a positive educational experience.
  • Support the development and maintenance of programme schedules, academic calendars and future programme planning.
  • Assist in the delivery of student orientation activities and programme briefings.

Academic Administration

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for academic enquiries from students and faculty.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support for classes, field trips, guest lectures and examinations.
  • Support visiting faculty members and assist with the day-to-day administration of academic programmes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency and best practice across all London-based programmes.
  • Assist with course administration, learning resources and maintenance of programme records.
  • Student Support and Student Experience
  • Contribute to the delivery of academic support and pastoral care for students.
  • Participate in orientation activities and ensure students receive essential programme information.
  • Monitor attendance and student engagement throughout programme delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the overall student experience.
  • Support academic verification processes linked to student visa requirements.
  • Partnership and Stakeholder Management
  • Support the Academic Affairs leadership team in managing programmes delivered with partner institutions, including:
    • Royal College of Music
    • LAMDA
    • The Courtauld Institute of Art
  • Build positive working relationships with faculty, external partners and university stakeholders.
  • Participate in programme planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in London and Boston to support future programme development.

Learning Technology and Compliance

  • Collaborate with colleagues to establish and maintain Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) course spaces.
  • Support faculty and students with basic learning technology queries and coordinate escalation where required.
  • Assist with academic verification processes linked to student visa compliance and UK immigration requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to institutional policies, procedures and regulatory requirements including Title IX, Clery Act, FERPA and NDAA obligations.
  • Recruitment and Representation
  • Occasionally travel to Boston to represent London programmes, build relationships with colleagues and deliver presentations to faculty and students.

Support programme promotion, student engagement and recruitment activities where appropriate.

About You:

You will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, building effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and delivering excellent service to students and faculty.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience coordinating programmes, projects, events or academic activities.
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage confidently with colleagues and senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and work effectively to deadlines.
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with digital learning technologies.
  • Experience working effectively as part of a collaborative team.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience working in higher education, international education, programme administration, student services or a similarly complex stakeholder-focused environment.
  • Knowledge of academic administration processes.
  • Experience supporting study abroad or international student programmes.
  • Experience working in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by students studying overseas.
  • Knowledge of UK student visa processes and compliance requirements.
