About the Role
The post will involve taking responsibility for the delivery of high-quality and reproducible genomic and multi-omic research and helping to supervise a multi-disciplinary research team; project managing research activity and will involve identifying sources of research funding and contribute to the process of securing funds through bids and growing reputation.
About You
The post holder will provide overall: analysis of large-scale biobanks with whole genome sequencing and genotyping alongside multiomic datasets to understand the genetic architecture of diabetes and metabolic diseases.
This post requires extensive experience in analysis of genomic data, supported by a PhD.
They will support the development of pipelines that digest large-scale publicly available genome-wide summary statistics for genome-wide meta-analyses with data from South Asian cohorts. The will develop pipelines for rare variant burden and gene-level testing. They will be familiar with methods such as soft-clustering and similar analytic approaches for obtaining insight into the aetiology of complex phenotypes through the analysis of large-scale genomic databases is essential. An interest in metabolic diseases and studying diverse ancestry genetics is desirable.
The post requires a flexible, intuitive, highly talented individual capable of self-organization, with a broad range of skills in data analysis, genomic bioinformatics, software engineering, database management and passionate about using new genetic tools to advance precision medicine for metabolic diseases.

The Wolfson Institute of Population Health (WIPH) is an exciting and dynamic environment, home to 450 staff, 100 PhD students and 500 postgraduate taught students. It harnesses expertise across a wide range of population-based research and education activities and is an internationally recognised centre of excellence in population health, primary care and preventive medicine.
