Anna Freud is seeking a part-time Module Lead – MRes Developmental Neuroscience and Psychopathology to join our world-leading mental health charity for children, young people and families.

What you’ll do

You will lead the delivery of core neuroscience teaching on the MRes Developmental Neuroscience and Psychopathology, helping to provide a high-quality, internationally recognised learning experience.

You will:

  • Lead and deliver neuroscience modules, including most lectures.
  • Coordinate guest speakers and seminar leaders.
  • Develop engaging teaching materials, reading lists and student exercises.
  • Design and manage assessments, including coursework, marking criteria, marking and second marking.
  • Attend the annual Exam Board.
  • Contribute to coursework and dissertation marking.
  • Review student feedback and support continuous programme improvement.
  • Work closely with Programme Directors and the wider teaching team.

What you’ll bring

You will be an experienced psychology or neuroscience academic with a strong knowledge of developmental psychopathology and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching.

You will:

  • Hold a PhD in Psychology or Neuroscience.
  • Have strong knowledge of neuroscientific methods, including EEG, MRI and fMRI.
  • Understand the relationship between neural circuitry, affective processing and the development of mental health disorders.
  • Have practical experience using neuroscientific methods in research or academic settings.
  • Have experience teaching or tutoring in higher education, particularly in relation to mental health disorders.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and digital skills.
  • Be able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.

Key details

Hours: Part-time, 4 hours per week across one day. The post-holder must be available to teach on Wednesdays.

Location: Hybrid. Staff work onsite for at least 40% of their working hours at 4–8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH.
