Associate Lecturer: Legal Professional and Clinic Skills

YLS is seeking to appoint part-time Associate Lecturers to join our team of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) tutors. This role supports the delivery of our distinctive and internationally recognised PBL model, which sits at the heart of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. As our student community continues to grow and as we expand our work in skills development and the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) pathway, we are looking for colleagues who are committed to high-quality teaching, student support, and innovative approaches to legal education.

Role
In this post, you will support YLS’s distinctive Problem-Based Learning (PBL) curriculum across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will be teaching-focused and contribute directly to the delivery of legal education within the School’s distinctive pedagogical framework.

The posts are available from September 2026 and are offered on a part-time basis. An alternative start date and details of part-time hours can be discussed with the successful candidate/s.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications Needed

• Undergraduate or other higher degree in law.
• Detailed knowledge of the law of England and Wales sufficient to contribute to PBL facilitation and teaching across core areas.
• Highly developed communication skills to engage effectively with a wide-ranging audience, both orally and in writing, using a range of media.
• Ability to plan, manage, organise and assess own teaching contributions.
• Collaborative ethos.
• Positive attitude to colleagues and students.
