Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in functional bilayer chemistry to join the research group of Professor Jason Davis for a period of up to 3 years.

About the role 

This exciting opportunity forms part of a 5-year European Research Council (ERC) Advanced Grant where you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and involves the design and generation of bilayer and polymer encapsulated nanoparticles and of responsive polymer assemblies.

About you   

Applicants must hold a PhD in Chemistry (or be close to completion) prior to taking up the appointment.

The research requires experience in functional bilayers, nanomaterials, their generation and extensive characterisation. You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.   

The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, and is available from January 2027.
