Deputy Librarian (Teaching and Academic Services, Marshall Library) (Fixed Term)

The Marshall Library would like to welcome a new Deputy Marshall Librarian (Teaching and Academic Services) to join our team. This role is an exciting opportunity to support changes in a library that will reimagine its space, services and collections. Throughout the course of a two-year appointment, this post will allow you to work as part of a team, and alongside a fellow Deputy Marshall Librarian, to help harness what collections and services are most valued by our diverse reader groups and to develop new ways to support and engage with them in a digital environment.

Your role will include a variety of tasks and projects that will span the two-year appointment of this post. These include an assessment of the Marshall Library's collections and identifying what heavily used collections should be developed and which lesser used material can be relocated to other parts of the University Library network. This role will also be part of a group that reimagines the library space and you will be responsible for coordinating the removal or transfer of library equipment.

The Deputy Marshall Librarian will also spend time engaging with members of the Economics Faculty and Centre of Development Studies. You will be an active member of discussions about library services whilst also finding ways to promote the library to a wide audience. The role of Deputy Marshall Librarian will also give you an opportunity to deliver teaching in a variety of settings, including appointments, classes and online tuition. Training for these duties will be provided and you will be part of an active teaching community at Cambridge University Libraries and Archives. You will also supervise a member of staff who can support teaching activities and assist with their preparation.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
