We have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Administration Manager to lead and manage a large diverse team of Professional Services staff to deliver an effective and efficient administrative service for the Postgraduate Taught programmes in the College of Medicine and Health.

You will be part of the Education Services and Support team within the College of Medicine and Health which consists of over 100 Professional Services staff who work together to support and enable the delivery of education across Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes.

As part of the Education Services and Support Team, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, efficient and student-focused administrative service across a diverse portfolio of programmes. Working closely with academic colleagues and external partners, you will help create an exceptional learning experience for students while ensuring compliance with University regulations and quality standards.

This is a significant leadership role where you will manage, develop and support a team of Senior Education Support Administrators and Education Support Administrators, providing guidance on policies, procedures and operational processes. You will oversee programme and student data management, lead service improvements, support teaching and assessment planning, and use data insights to enhance programme delivery. The role also involves managing complex queries and complaints, representing the service at key committees and boards, and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders, including NHS Trusts.

You will have experience of leading teams in a complex environment, driving continuous improvement and delivering outstanding customer service. Main duties

  • Manage, develop and support a large team of Senior Education Support Administrators and Education Support Administrators.
  • Responsible for developing and delivering an administration service that is compliant, accurate, and consistently meets the required quality and delivery standards.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of University regulations, policies and procedures, and regularly provide technical advice, guidance and support to colleagues, ensuring in particular that the administration team have the level of knowledge and understanding to enable them to work to the requirements of their roles. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience 

  • Qualified to Degree level or equivalent plus practical managerial experience or significant relevant experience demonstrated through increasingly more demanding roles evidencing the experience necessary for this role
  • Proven track record of successfully managing a diverse team
  • Experience of working in a complex organisation with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to develop new models of delivering the service
