Anna Freud is seeking a part-time Practice Tutor to join our world-leading mental health charity for children, young people and their families. What you’ll do

As Practice Tutor, you will help Educational Mental Health Practitioner trainees develop the practical skills, knowledge and confidence to deliver effective and inclusive mental health interventions in educational settings.

  • Facilitate Practice Tutor Groups and skills-based workshops, helping trainees apply their learning to practice
  • Deliver teaching sessions and contribute to the development of programme content
  • Monitor trainee progress, provide personal tutoring and raise concerns through the appropriate channels
  • Mark assignments in line with UCL requirements and attend marking and calibration meetings
  • Work with programme colleagues, supervisors and trainees to support a positive and inclusive learning experience

What you’ll bring

You will be an experienced child mental health or education professional who can confidently support, teach and assess postgraduate trainees.

  • A recognised qualification in a core mental health profession, or a relevant qualification in working with children alongside additional child mental health training or experience
  • Experience of delivering CBT or CBT-informed assessments and interventions with children, young people and families in CAMHS or educational settings
  • Experience of facilitating inclusive small-group learning, teaching adults or delivering professional training
  • Experience of providing supervision, reflective practice or support to professionals, colleagues or university students
  • Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills, including managing competing deadlines and maintaining accurate records

Key details

Salary: £45,427 FTE per annum, plus a 6% contributory pension scheme

Hours: 7 hours per week. You must be available on Wednesdays from 9am–5pm, with occasional flexibility to work at other times

Location: Hybrid. Teaching and Practice Tutor Groups are delivered mainly face-to-face at our London office, 4–8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH

Contract: Fixed-term for 12 months
