We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join our team as a Hospitality and Events Manager. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee the delivery of services across a wide range of venues over the University Campus within a dynamic and inclusive environment.

You will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating and delivering designated hospitality, events, weddings and business functions across a wide range of University venues and campus facilities.
  • Supporting the H&E Manager to plan, staff and deliver hospitality, conference, lunch, dinner, banqueting, wedding and refreshment services to agreed standards.
  • Maintaining service quality, customer care, dietary/allergen processes, health and safety standards, stock control and venue/key-holder procedures in line with policy.
  • Contributing to service development, promotional activity, reporting, social media engagement, colleague development and deputising for the H&E Manager when required.

About You

We are looking for a collaborative researcher with advanced computational skills and relevant social science expertise. You should demonstrate:

Essential Criteria:

  • RFQ Level 4 qualification, or equivalent professional qualification, in hospitality, catering or events, or demonstrable professional knowledge gained through relevant industry experience.
  • Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification, sound knowledge of hospitality health and safety compliance, and ability to work flexibly across weekdays, evenings, weekends and venues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, customer service, liaison, supervision, workload management, IT, financial administration, stock control and performance monitoring skills.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Level 4 Food Hygiene qualification, awareness of workplace environmental sustainability, and understanding of Health & Safety, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and Information Governance.
