About the role
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in AI and Business to join the School of Marketing and Strategy. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious academic to contribute to a vibrant and interdisciplinary community that is internationally recognised for its excellence in business education and research. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing research and delivering an outstanding student experience, while helping to strengthen the School’s growing expertise at the intersection of artificial intelligence, business strategy and innovation.
You will develop a high-quality research portfolio with the potential to produce internationally recognised outputs and attract external funding, while contributing to postgraduate research supervision and collaborative partnerships with academic, professional and industry stakeholders. You will deliver research-led teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, with particular relevance to areas such as AI Agent Solutions in Business, AI Systems Thinking, Digital Transformation, Intelligent Automation and Operations, and Technology Strategy. Alongside teaching and research, you will contribute to programme development, student support, public engagement and the broader academic life of the School and University.
About you
You will hold a completed PhD in a relevant discipline and have expertise that complements and enhances the School’s existing strengths. You will demonstrate a growing track record of high-quality research publications, clear plans for future research development and experience of external funding applications. You will also have experience of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level, with evidence of delivering excellent student outcomes and a commitment to research-informed education. Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, an equivalent teaching qualification, or a willingness to achieve this on appointment is essential.
You will be an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, capable of building strong networks and collaborative relationships. With the ability to work independently and as part of a team, you will be committed to delivering an excellent student experience through innovative teaching, high-quality pastoral support and effective mentoring. You will share our ambition to make a positive contribution through research, education and engagement, helping to shape the future of AI and business education within a leading UK university.
