At the Zhejiang University–University of Edinburgh Institute (ZJE) (Link: zje.zju.edu.cn), excellence is defined through partnership. Established by two globally leading universities - Zhejiang University (QS 2026: 47) and the University of Edinburgh (QS 2026: 35). ZJE represents a distinctive model of international collaboration in higher education and research with outstanding outcomes for both undergraduate and postgraduate cohorts and our academic staff.

Located on Zhejiang University’s International Campus in Haining, China, ZJE brings together the academic rigor, innovation, and global outlook of both institutions. Since its founding in 2016, the Institute has built a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment that transcends traditional academic boundaries and fosters impactful discoveries across biomedical and health sciences.

ZJE combines world-class expertise with cutting-edge infrastructure, exceptional teaching facilities, comprehensive core facilities spanning FACS, imaging, histology, biochemistry, and biomedical informatics, alongside a major laboratory animal facility. This integrated ecosystem enables researchers (and students) to pursue ambitious, high-impact work across the spectrum of basic and translational science.
