About the Role

As Senior Clinical Lecturer / Senior Academic GP in Community-Based Undergraduate Medicine, you will contribute to the coordination, support and quality enhancement of community placements, working closely with GP Clinical Placement Supervisors (CPS) and other community educators. As well as supporting the MBChB programme through engagement with placement providers and curriculum delivery,

You will work collaboratively with the Practice Education Team and Professional Support colleagues to maintain effective relationships with placement providers and community partners, and respond to educational issues

This post may be appointed as either a Senior Clinical Lecturer or Senior Academic GP depending on the successful candidate’s qualifications, professional background and experience. The role is open to applicants from both clinical and non-clinical backgrounds, with appointment made at the appropriate level and job title within the University’s academic framework.

About You

As Senior Clinical Lecturer / Senior Academic GP in Community-Based Undergraduate Medicine you will have substantial experience in medical education, health professions education, or a related academic or clinical field, and a developing or established profile in educational scholarship, research, professional practice or curriculum development.

For clinical applicants, you will normally hold full professional registration, appropriate postgraduate qualifications, and completion of recognised specialist training (e.g. CCT or equivalent), with experience of primary care or community-based clinical practice where applicable.

For non-clinical applicants, you will be able to demonstrate equivalent expertise and credibility through significant experience in medical education, health professions education, higher education curriculum development, or related academic practice.

To be successful you will further enrich our student’s experience through your expertise and subject knowledge as evidenced through your qualifications and extensive experience of professional practice. In return, you will join a forward thinking and dynamic team that pushes the boundaries of curriculum development within medical education.
