About the Role

Informal Queries

2 x Teaching & Research Fellow Positions (Up to 3 years fixed term contract)

The university has recently introduced these Teaching and Research Fellow positions, which are designed to make a valuable contribution to the department’s teaching provision while also enabling appointees with time to develop and maintain their own research programme.

As a Teaching & Research Fellow, you will play a leading role in delivering support classes and tutorials, and grading assignments for our undergraduate students. You will also contribute to a range of other teaching and learning activities, possibly including personal tutoring, outreach, and open days.

You will spend 50% of your time over the year pursuing your own research in Mathematics. We will find you a mentor in your own subject area, but you will be free to create your own research agenda.

About You

You will have completed, or be close to completing, a PhD in Mathematics; this post would be suitable as a first postdoctoral appointment, although applications are also welcome from those with more experience.

You will have experience of teaching small groups, and be able to demonstrate strong research potential.

You will have a sound understanding of Mathematics at first- and second-year University level, ideally across the breadth of the Warwick curriculum. You will be enthusiastic and committed to delivering a high-quality learning experience.

You will be able to work independently and as part of a team, aiding in the delivery and development of a busy teaching programme at Warwick. You will have good planning, time management and communication skills, and be able to engage with students during their learning experience in order to facilitate effective learning.

For one of the positions, preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate advanced knowledge of Python.
