The Maternal and Infant Health Equity Research Centre (MIHERC) which sits in the Centre for Applied Health and Social Care Research (CARe) at Sheffield Hallam University is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow for the development and delivery of high-quality research within an established programme of work.
The postholder will undertake independent and collaborative research activities, manage research projects, contribute to publications and funding applications, and engage with academic, clinical, community and policy stakeholders to maximise research impact.
This post will support Sheffield Hallam University’s contribution to the NIHR-MDC, specifically in the Perinatal Mental Health and Psychosocial Wellbeing core team within the NIHR-MDC.
Particularly, the Research Fellow will support a multi-method, multi phased study to use appreciative inquiry for co-production of culturally appropriate interventions and equity informed perinatal mental health and psychosocial wellbeing care pathway. The Research Fellow will contribute to coproduction of interventions with women, families and clinicians, and planning future evaluation of the interventions including usability and feasibility testing, data collection, implementation frameworks, and the generation of evidence to support future scale-up across the consortium.

The University currently enrols eligible academic staff into the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS), a defined-benefit pension scheme.
Should you be enrolled into TPS, each year you will earn a secure pension benefit of 1/57th of your salary and the University will pay pension contributions towards the cost of this pension (currently worth about 29% of your salary). For a salary of £40,000, for example, the University would pay just over £11,400 in the first year of your employment and you would earn a pension of £702 p.a. for that year (payable from your State Pension Age).
