The University of Wolverhampton is one of the UK's largest universities, with over 23,000 students, a strong reputation for teaching excellence, research and innovation, and significant investment in state-of-the-art facilities. The School of Architecture, Computing and Engineering delivers a broad portfolio of engineering programmes and has an established reputation for excellence in high-value manufacturing, supported by strong industry partnerships and a vibrant research culture.

As part of our internationalisation strategy, we are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced academic to support the delivery of our Mechanical Engineering programmes, with an initial focus on teaching in China.

You will contribute to the delivery, supervision and development of undergraduate and postgraduate Mechanical Engineering programmes in both the UK and at the University's Joint Education Institute (JEI) in Kunming, China. Working closely with colleagues in Wolverhampton and our partner institution, you will help ensure an outstanding student experience and maintain the University's high academic standards.

The role includes undertaking teaching and related academic activities in China through agreed periods of flying faculty delivery. Overseas teaching is expected to total up to three months per academic year, usually delivered in blocks of no more than 30 days per visit.

You must hold a PhD in Engineering or a closely related discipline and demonstrate substantial expertise in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent. Membership of a relevant professional body is desirable. You will have experience of teaching in higher education and be able to contribute to curriculum development, student support and academic leadership.

You will also contribute to the School's research activities, with a strong publication profile and the potential to secure external funding, develop research collaborations and support the University's innovation agenda.

Appointment is subject to having, or being able to obtain, the right to work in China.

For an informal discussion, please contact Dr Aman Dhir (aman.dhir@wlv.ac.uk) or Dr Peter Wardle (p.wardle@wlv.ac.uk).
