JOB OVERVIEW

This is an exciting time to join The Place and LCDS as Research Officer. Following the approval of our RKE Strategy 2024-29, we are entering a phase of expanding and strengthening research and knowledge exchange activity with academic colleagues, Public Programmes teams, professional staff, and external partners.

The primary purpose of this role is to coordinate and support the operations and administration of research and knowledge exchange at The Place. This includes coordinating our PhD programme in partnership with UAL, supporting preparations for the Research Excellence Framework (REF), and helping to develop a vibrant research culture through activities such as our newly established research clusters. The role will also occasionally contribute to Knowledge Exchange, coordinating institutional Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF), Higher Education Innovation Fund (HEIF) and Higher Education Business and Community Interaction (HE-BCI) activity.

You will coordinate research projects and events, maintain systems and databases to track outputs, impact and funding, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen research and knowledge exchange development. You will also contribute to impact case studies, funding applications, financial monitoring, and the continuous improvement of systems, processes and procedures.

SALARY & CONTRACT TERMS

SALARY

The full-time equivalent salary for this position is £34,966 per annum pro-rata, equating to £27,973 per annum for this part-time role.

Salaries are reviewed in August each year when any cost-of-living increases are made. No salary changes are made until after successful completion of a probationary period.

CONTRACT TERMS

This is an open-ended, permanent contract. This is a part-time position (equivalent to 32 hours per week). These hours are inclusive of a one-hour paid lunch break each day. Your hours of work will be agreed with the line manager.

Whilst in the six-month probationary period the notice period will be two weeks. Once this period is successfully completed the post holder will be confirmed in the post and the notice period will be eight weeks.

Please note that we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK at the time of application and for the duration of employment.
