About the role:
The Senior Business Development Manager will be responsible for implementing the faculty’s strategy and business plan for third stream and non-traditional education (professional education, continuous professional development, summer schools and lifelong learning), building the faculty’s portfolio and proposition, with a particular focus on the cultural and creative industry sectors.
They will be responsible for developing a robust pipeline of stakeholder and employer engagement, focused on income generation, portfolio diversification, impact, and enterprise aligned to the professional education portfolio within Arts & Humanities at King’s.
The role holder will work closely with Heads of Business Development in the central King’s Professional & Executive Development (KPED) team, the Pro-Vice Dean for professional education, and the education leadership team within the faculty, roles across various college Directorates and with the other faculties supporting professional education.
This is a full time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract

Essential criteria
- Proven skills and experience in business development and income generation
- Demonstrable experience in external engagement with private, public and third sector organisations, and ability to build internal networks across a large, complex organisation.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Third stream education marketplace and current trends, particularly in the sphere of social value, impact and enterprise.
- Highly effective communication skills attuned to audience requirements and delivered in different formats.
- Significant experience of managing organisational change.
- Excellent task management skills and proven ability to use initiative, prioritise workloads for self and others and respond positively to competing demands and deadlines.
- Highly capable in financial and data literacy, managing budgets, risks, and performance against metrics
- Experience of effective line management, including a commitment to continuous professional development in self and others
Desirable criteria
- Prior experience in a higher education administration environment.
- Knowledge of market intelligence gathering and marketing
