Join the Research Governance, Ethics and Contracts team within Research Partnerships and Innovation at the University of Plymouth as a Research Governance and Ethics Administrator.

About the role:

In this pivitol role, you’ll support the smooth running of the Faculty Research Ethics Committees and help maintain the integrity of our research practices. You’ll work closely with researchers, committee members, and governance colleagues to provide expert administrative support and guidance on ethical issues—particularly those involving human participants or sensitive topics.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide advice and support on research ethics and integrity.
  • Assist researchers with applications via the Plymouth Ethics Online System (PEOS).
  • Maintain databases and internal resources related to ethics and governance.
  • Support compliance with university policies and regulatory requirements.

For this role, you will need to be on site 2 days a week. Although we can accommodate working from home for this role, flexibility to be on-site will be expected due to business needs.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong administrative experience and excellent communication skills.
  • A collaborative team player with a keen eye for detail.
  • Confidence in using Microsoft Office and managing data.
  • Experience in a higher education or research environment is desirable.

This is a part time, permanent position, working 18.5 hours per week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
