Officer - Academic Quality and Enhancement

University Academy 92 (UA92)

Co-founded by the Class of 92 and Lancaster University, we started with a clear belief: higher education should be accessible to all. That means challenging the inequalities, widening participation and creating opportunities for people who may not always have seen Higher Education as a path for them.

That purpose shapes the education we provide, but it also shapes how we work. We’re prepared to question established ways of doing things, try something different and keep improving when we know there is a better way. Our ambition is simple but significant: to change lives by making higher education accessible to all, while meeting the skills and talent needs of industry.

We’re now looking for an Academic Quality and Enhancement Officer to join us. This is a role at the heart of making sure our academic provision is strong, our standards are protected and, ultimately, our students get the quality of education and experience they came to UA92 for.

The role

Working with the Head of Academic Quality, you’ll play an important part in the day-to-day delivery of academic quality assurance, enhancement, curriculum management and academic governance across UA92.

You’ll take ownership of defined quality and Registry processes, helping to make sure they work well, remain compliant and support rather than complicate the student and academic experience. You’ll coordinate programme approvals, modifications and reviews; maintain accurate curriculum information and documentation; support academic governance and committees; and produce the data and management information that helps us understand performance and keep improving.

What you’ll bring

You’ll understand the importance of academic quality and governance and be comfortable working with processes where accuracy, judgement and attention to detail really matter.

We’re looking for someone with experience gained within higher education, further education or a comparable professional environment, alongside experience of administering complex processes, policies, regulations or procedures. You’ll be confident maintaining accurate records and data, producing reports and management information, and supporting committees, governance activity or formal meetings.

You’ll also bring:

  • Knowledge of higher education regulations, quality assurance frameworks and academic governance processes.
  • An understanding of how Registry and Academic Quality functions contribute to the student experience.
  • Strong organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • The confidence to work independently, use your judgement and spot where a process could work better.
