We couldn’t exist anywhere else and have shaped the city in which we belong. Working with the people of Liverpool to improve lives and support communities is at the heart of why we were founded and why we exist today.

Liverpool John Moores University is seeking to appoint an Academic Programme Tutor for the Professional Qualification in Probation (PQiP) Programme. This programme will provide the academic component of the PQiP training for the North West and Greater Manchester areas. As an Academic Programme Tutor, you will be located in the School of Justice Studies and work alongside colleagues in a dedicated PQiP Team and more broadly with Criminal Justice colleagues. In addition, you will act as a dedicated link to one of the probation areas.

We are seeking to appoint highly motivated and creative individuals who are committed to the pursuit of excellence in probation teaching and practice. You should have experience of teaching and learning activities within Higher Education and/or the workplace. It is desirable to have a post graduate degree in Criminal Justice, or cognate area and/or significant probation operational experience.

Applications are particularly welcome from people with lived experience of the criminal justice system.

In return, we offer an excellent benefits package including generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme, induction and development support as well as family-friendly policies.

This is an exciting time to join the university as we deliver the LJMU Strategy 2030 and its vision of LJMU as an inclusive civic university transforming lives and futures, by placing students at the heart of everything we do.

If you feel that this is the role you have been looking for and your skills and experience can make a real difference at LJMU, we look forward to hearing from you.

LJMU values diversity and provides a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can fulfil their potential.
