The Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach Department at Oxford University invites applications for the post of Policy Adviser. This key role provides first-class policy advice and support to the Senior Head of Policy, the UAO Director and senior leadership team of UAO.

About the role

As the Policy Adviser, you will:

  • Hold a responsible position which offers the opportunity to be involved at the centre of the Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach department (UAO) in a busy and challenging environment.
  • Attend committees in particular Admissions Executive Committee (AdEx) and Admissions Committee (AdCom), and their related working groups, by producing high quality and coherent policy papers and by representing UAO on these committees and groups when required.
  • Play a pivotal role in the organisation of work required to fulfil the annual reporting commitments to external bodies including the Office for Students (OfS).
  • Work with students and staff across the collegiate University, and to support policy development and implementation through clear communication, guidance and advice.
  • Work with senior academic staff across the institution and with external stakeholders and to deal appropriately with sensitive and confidential matters.

About you

The successful candidate will be an experienced individual able to work effectively with stakeholders across the collegiate University supporting policy development and implementation through clear communication, guidance and advice.
