Lecturer in Sport and Physical Education

Hunan Normal University-University of Lancashire School of Health, Social Work and Sport

The University of Lancashire is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced lecturer in Sport and Physical Education to join our team at Hunan Normal University. This role will involve teaching, coaching and supporting learning activities within the area of Sport and Physical Education.

The appointee will deliver and support the teaching, learning and assessment of modules within the Sport and Physical Education joint programme running at Hunan Normal University. The role will provide vital knowledge, experience and skills aligned to the UK National Curriculum of Physical Education and the UK Coaching Framework on behalf of The School Health, Social Work and Sport at The University of Lancashire in collaboration with Hunan Normal University.

Fixed term contract to 31st August 2027 with a potential to extend on an academic yearly basis. This role is offered on a consultancy (independent contractor) basis and does not constitute employment with the University.

VISA REGULATION & REQUIREMENTS Teaching posts at Hunan Normal University are regulated by Chinese Labour Law and Hunan Provincial Government regulations. These regulations stipulate that the post holder must have a Master’s degree qualification (in a related discipline). Two years’ relevant experience of teaching English for Academic and/or English for Specific Purposes at university or Foundation year level is essential to working and obtaining a visa in China. For this type of post, they require the post holder to be a fluent English speaker with citizenship of the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India, or South Africa. The post holder must comply with Chinese Labour Laws and Hebei Provincial Government regulations to obtain a Chinese work permit and entry Z visa (restrictions apply) - this includes a Police/Criminal Records Check and Health Check. These regulations stipulate who is eligible for legal work with regards to obtaining work permits and visas. The regulations in this province may preclude people at or over the age of 60 from obtaining a PRC work visa.
