Overall Purpose

The main purpose of the post is to undertake and/or lead teaching activities within the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. You will be required to deliver high‑quality teaching across subjects in bioengineering, design and manufacturing, support assessment activities (marking, moderation and exam coordination), supervise Undergraduate and Postgraduate level projects and contribute to student experience, quality assurance and accreditation requirements.

The post is available for 18 months at 0.5 FTE.

About the Team

The successful candidate will join the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) within the School of Engineering, a vibrant community of around 100 academic and research staff and over 250 PhD students. Our Innovative Manufacturing research brings together world-leading expertise in bioengineering, biomechanics, medical device development, digital and sustainable manufacturing and laser processing research. The appointee will contribute to this ecosystem by helping deliver teaching & learning activities in both core and specialist topics related to manufacturing with a focus on bioengineering. The teaching opportunities for the appointee will also include contributions to the delivery and coordination of content in core areas of engineering manufacturing design, and we are particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to our practical activities in this area.
