The Role
The School of Natural and Environmental Sciences is looking to appoint a fixed-term (12 months) Lecturer in Marine Biology.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Biological Sciences teaching and research community and work in a collegiate environment to deliver high quality research-led teaching with opportunities for research.
We are seeking an individual who would be able to deliver teaching on deep sea and polar biology as well as practical boat-based fieldwork on our research vessel Princess Royal. The successful candidate would also be expected to contribute to other areas of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as required, including academic advising and residential field courses. We are a world class university that delivers research-led teaching and are particularly keen to appoint candidates with modern and innovative teaching approaches, which will inspire, engage and equip our students to tackle the grand challenges our planet faces.
You will be joining an ambitious and collegiate group of marine scientists, as well as interacting with colleagues from a wide range of disciplines within the school. While the position will be predominantly teaching focused there will be opportunities for you to develop your research.
