We are a world class research-intensive university. We deliver teaching and learning of the highest quality. We play a leading role in economic, social and cultural development of the North East of England. Attracting and retaining high-calibre people is fundamental to our continued success.
The Role
Based in the Newcastle Joint Research Office, the Quality Assurance Manager will provide professional support to Newcastle University (University) and Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Trust) Designated Individuals (DIs) in discharging their responsibilities in line with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
We are looking for candidates who are familiar with Human Tissue Authority (HTA) codes of practice and the associated legislative and regulatory landscape, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP).
In this role you will provide advice and drive the co-ordination and maintenance of governance support for research using human tissue and laboratory samples, including samples registered under the University and Trust HTA Research Licenses. You will also ensure compliance to GCP and GCLP.
We are looking for someone who is solutions focused, comfortable working in complexity, a team player and is keen to learn, develop and share learning and best practice locally, regionally, and nationally to ensure that Newcastle continues to be recognised for its excellence and high standards in translational and clinical research.
If you would like to informally discuss the role further please contact David Hill, Director of Research & Innovation on David.Hill@ncl.ac.uk, or Sophie Handson, Quality Assurance Manager on Sophie.Handson@nhs.net.
