About the role

Imperial is seeking an experienced Student Income Policy and Data Lead to join our Income team within Finance on a fixed-term contract until December 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic, data-driven leader to shape student income policy, improve processes, and deliver high-quality management information supporting decision-making across the institution.

You will lead policy development, data governance, reporting, and continuous improvement, ensuring student income processes remain efficient, compliant, and aligned with institutional priorities. An immediate priority will be leading Imperial's operational readiness for the Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE) and supporting the Oracle Fusion implementation in 2027.

What you would be doing

  • Lead business readiness for the LLE across Finance, Registry, and ICT, ensuring Banner and Oracle are configured to support modular fee assessment and accurate fee processing.
  • Support the design and implementation of the Banner Student to Oracle Fusion Accounts Receivable integration, ensuring robust data flows, automated billing triggers, and effective reconciliation controls.
  • Own the functional roadmap for student income systems, prioritising and delivering enhancements that strengthen processes, controls, and service delivery.
  • Monitor and implement relevant policies, ensuring compliance with funding body requirements, consumer protection obligations, fee status guidance, and visa-related charging considerations.
  • Translate policy into clear process designs, decision trees, and Banner rules that are auditable and repeatable.
  • Oversee key control reviews, manage audit relationships, and support UAT across Banner Student, Oracle AR, and interfacing systems.
  • Act as a trusted subject matter expert on income systems and policy across wider University projects.

What we are looking for

  • Degree or equivalent experience with in-depth exposure to credit-to-cash and student billing systems.
  • Extensive hands-on experience configuring student billing and AR processes within a HE student records system, ideally Ellucian Banner Student/AR.
  • Knowledge of the SLC and LLE processes and a proven track record translating tuition fee regulations into system rules and processes.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with demonstrable experience delivering projects of similar scale in higher education.
  • An immediate start is preferred.

What we can offer you

  • The opportunity to continue your career at a world-leading institution and be part of our mission to use science for humanity.
  • Benefit from a sector-leading salary and remuneration package (including 43 days’ annual leave and generous pension schemes).
  • Access to a range of workplace benefits including a flexible working policy from day one, generous family leave packages, on-site leisure facilities and cycle-to-work scheme.
  • Interest-free season ticket loan schemes for travel.
  • Be part of a diverse, inclusive and collaborative work culture with various staff networks and resources to support your personal and professional wellbeing.
