The Department of Radiology is seeking an organised and proactive Course Administrator to support the delivery of its new taught MPhil in Precision Medical Imaging and AI (PREMIA), which will welcome its first cohort of students in October 2027.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in establishing and supporting an innovative postgraduate programme operating at the interface of cutting-edge research, advanced imaging technology and clinical practice. You will help ensure the smooth running of the programme's teaching and learning activities, providing high-quality administrative support throughout the student lifecycle.
Working closely with students, academics, clinicians and technical staff, you will coordinate a broad range of activities, which may include academic timetabling, meetings and committees, coursework and assessment processes, examinations, student communications and programme events. You will also support financial administration, maintain accurate records, collate and analyse data for reporting purposes, and assist with monitoring programme activities and expenditure.
The role is based within the Department of Radiology but involves close collaboration with colleagues across the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, including Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. It therefore offers a varied working environment in which effective communication, teamwork and the ability to build positive working relationships will be essential.
The Department of Radiology combines scientific excellence with access to some of the UK's most advanced imaging facilities. Equipped with state-of-the-art clinical and preclinical MRI, PET and CT imaging equipment, our comprehensive research ecosystem enables world-class investigation into disease mechanisms, accelerates the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, and provides an unparalleled training environment for the next generation of imaging scientists.
The successful candidate will be educated to HND/HNC or Level 4/5 standard, or have an equivalent level of practical experience. They will have proven experience in a comprehensive administrative or coordination role, ideally within an academic, higher education, clinical or healthcare environment.
You will be highly organised, methodical and accurate, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong IT proficiency and a confident approach to working with students and senior colleagues are essential. Experience of postgraduate course administration, committee support, financial processes, student record systems or academic timetabling would be advantageous.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 5 years in the first instance.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
