We are currently looking to appoint a Digital Communications Coordinator to support our Strategic Marketing Team for a period of 12 months due to maternity leave. Reporting to the Communications Manager, you will work closely with researchers to share the Franklin’s science with relevant stakeholders. In this role, you will gain experience in a range of activities with your core responsibilities outlined below.

We operate a hybrid working model, with a minimum of three days in the office based at Harwell Science and Innovation Campus near Oxford, UK. Flexibility can be given to different working patterns i.e. condensed hours or around start and finish times.

The proposed start date for this vacancy is early November 2026.

Key Responsibilities

As a Digital Communications Coordinator you will:

  • Build strong relationships with operations and science colleagues, building stories and ideas for campaigns from our research.
  • Create and manage high-quality, audience-focused content across digital channels, particularly LinkedIn and the website.
  • Lead on social media planning and delivery, including supporting colleagues and research teams to engage effectively online.
  • Monitor and analyse digital performance, using insights to improve content, campaigns and audience reach.
  • Support the planning, promotion, delivery and on-the-day support for webinars and events (online and in-person).
  • Maintain and develop website content (WordPress), ensuring it remains current, accessible and aligned with organisational priorities.
  • Manage internal and external newsletters (Sharepoint, Campaign Monitor).
  • Manage the Franklin’s image library.
  • Keep up to date with digital trends and best practice to continuously improve our approach.
