The Department has a substantial research programme, with major funding from Medical Research Council (MRC), Wellcome Trust and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and provides highly rated medical training in psychiatry. The Head of Department is Professor Belinda Lennox.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Communications Officer to join the newly established Oxford Centre for Women’s Mental Health and play a key role in shaping its communications, engagement and public profile as it advances world-leading research and impact in women’s mental health.
About the role
The post is funded for until 31st July 2031 and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital and the Nuffield Department of Women’s and Reproductive Health.
You will professionally deliver the communications strategy for the interdisciplinary Oxford Centre for Women’s Mental Health (OCWMH), working with stakeholders in affiliated University departments and units (especially Psychiatry, NDWRH and the Humanities Division). You will write, edit and proofread a range of communications materials for broad audiences, including newsletters, blog posts, briefings and reports. You will oversee the production of promotional materials for OCWMH campaigns and events, including dedicated websites, brochures, leaflets and posters.
About you
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience You will have demonstrated experience of taking responsibility for print and digital communications, social media content and supporting media relations activity. You will have proven experience in producing effective web content. Professional qualifications in public relations or marketing are desirable.
